A Yellow car! I liked it right away! It was a "Forward Look" Plymouth, I liked that too! And most of all, it wasn't a top of the line Fury version, it was a BELVEDERE!
This one coming from DANBURY MINT, I felt was a better replication than that of the versions given to us by the other mint, as it got the roof-line correct. The brochure was as inviting as I imagined the actual model would be, and I wasn't disappointed when the actual model was delivered to my doorstep. A little more subtle, not as loud with the chrome, but still every bit a '58 PLYMOUTH!
I have all of the '58 Plymouth's offered by both mints, and this SUNFLOWER YELLOW & ICEBERG WHITE version is my favorite of the lot.

A beautiful little gem George. Perfect period colors too!

I believe you about the "period correct colors", but have to be honest, I don't ever recall actually seeing a REAL '58 Plymouth in this color combo. Certainly though, it is the colors that for me, make the car.

I haven't either George, but I saw one in Copper Glow once. Here's the old color chart:
Well guys you got me on this one. I can't believe I don't have this model especially because it's yellow which is one of my favorite colors.
I spoke too soon. My wife reminded me of some cars in a spare bedroom and sure enough there was the yellow Plymouth. When I thought I didn't have this model I immediately got on line to see if I could find one. The only one I found was listed for $250.00...sure glad I found mine.

LOL, Bob as soon as I read your first post saying you didn't have this model, honest I mumbled to myself, "Awe come on, how can he not have this model?". I mean, I just expect that with the size of your collection, that just can't be something you don't have.
Glad to hear that you did find after all that you do have it. And since the price you found one at was listed at $250.00, I think you need to take your wife out to a nice dinner for reminding you of the cars in that spare bedroom. After all, she just saved you all that money.

@perrone1, thank you! So fun to see all the many color choices that were available on cars back then. Sure better than today's limited color options.

LOL, how would you ever notice that? I certainly didn't. Don't tell my wife, she thinks I'm on the computer to much as it is.
And hey, what about the probably thousands that were on the previous diecast site? Man, I need to get a life.

I remember a new neighbor of ours had a Plymouth Belvedere exactly like this. That would have been 1959 when I was five years old and already car crazed kid. By the way, there is a listing on that other auction site for one of these models. It appears to have bad rash/bubbling on the hood, roof and trunk. If you zoom the pics it is clearly visible. I seem to recall that this is a fairly common issue with these particular models. Here's the listing link (cut & paste it):
@al_dorado, whenever I see mention of paint rash on our little cars, I immediately check the car in question on my shelf.
Though I do notice some slight rash on the hood, front fenders and the trunk, I don't consider it anything serious enough to panic. I used the word slight, and really mean slight. I've come to accept that these models are likely susceptible to some of this regardless of what we as collectors do or don't do with them.
Though I can only speak for myself, all of my cars are not only in their own individual plastic cases, but they are also kept out of direct light at all times in a room with the shades and curtains down. Beyond this, I feel there is nothing more that is within my power to prevent them from probably eventually all having some faults.
And if some slight rash is all a car submits to, then I'm grateful.
