As a model car collector I always thought it would be fun if it was possible to have consecutive years of cars (i.e. 1950 through 1965 etc.). Having a particular line-up of any Brand would allow me to display and enjoy the annual changes in style for that particular Brand. DANBURY MINT and FRANKLIN MINT gave us a few of the Forties and Fifties Chevrolet's, and their were a few lessor Mints that filled in a couple of gaps (i.e. JADA etc.). Â
With regard to Chevy's for the Fifties we got the 50, 53, 54, 55, 56, 57, 58, and 59. And for the Sixties we got the 60 and 63. That is until WEST COAST PERCISION DIECAST (WCPD) came along with (some more 59s) a 61, 62, and 64. To have that wished for consecutive year line-up seemed to be coming a booming reality on the horizon. The models produced by WCPD were of the finest quality of any 1:24 Diecast to come along, as their replication was on par with that of any other Mint. Â
When I pulled this Brochure from WCPD out of my mailbox, I literally could not believe my eyes! My personal favorite body-style for Chevy of the Sixties was the "convertible looking" Hardtop 1962, and it was among the other amazing models on these pages along with some 59s, incredible 61s and now even the 64. And hey, the color choices were unbelievable! THESE ARE MUST HAVE CARS!Â
Alas though, as great as these models were, they were short-lived in production and sadly the planned for '57 OLDSMOBILE teased at on page 7 of the Brochure was not to be. Needless to say, the thrill and excitement provided by everyone of the models in this Brochure is only eclipsed by holding the actual models in my hands. Â

WOW !!!!!...............just Wow!!!
That is an amazing brochure George. I've seen many of those photos independently and have some of them in my photo collection, but I've never seen the brochure as you have shown it. Very cool.Â
Thanks for sharing.

@jcarnutz, you're welcome John! And what's amazing about the photos in the Brochure is that they are photos of the actual models. And again kudo's to you for posting your Daily Dose of Diecast today featuring the WCPD '64 Chevy's. LOL, one might think we planned this, but we didn't.Â

George. Thanks for sharing. I had never seen a brochure from WCPD. You must have been on their great client list. As I never purchased any directly from them, and only have 1 from an ebay buy. Would love to get some more, but as we all can see our little diecasts have taken a big price hike on the used market. Just like what you find now in the real automotive market. Used cars now selling for over book value.

I had the honor to talk to Brian at WCPD a few times on the phone and the brochure came from him. One night we talked for over an hour and half about the '57 Oldsmobile's that he was planning and hoping to produce. I promised him that I buy one of each color for both Hardtops and Convertibles of every '57 he did. I was excited about the proposed project. From our phone talks, I found him to be interested in what we as collectors wanted and expected. It's sad that 1:24 diecast became obsolete so quickly, being hard to produce with reasonable sales margins and prices. Â

I spoke with Brian a few times on the phone...did you know he is/was Canadian and hails from Vancouver? I have a lot of WCPD models too, but have never seen the brochure you posted....very nice!

LOL! Brian LOVED to talk, especially about his cars. He was exceptionally passionate about the Impala's and wanted to branch out once he completed each and every color available on the 1:1's. I have the very same brochure you have George; a prize possession! 😎Â
Looking good,
With Danbury, WCPD, and Franklin mints, I can line up ‘54-‘64 Chevy hard tops.

Me too David. And I also have a 1953 Chevy Bel Air Hardtop, which for the price is a very nice model. And I have the DM '50 too, plus a couple 1940's Chevy's. So a pretty good representation of Chevy's through the years. Â

@perrone1, from I'm reading from some here, the WCPD Brochure seems fairly rare. Glad I have it. Â
