An amazing kit, probably decades old. Says 161 parts on the box, I remember from my very early direct mail FM brochures they would boast 150+ parts.

Other than the recent ICM kits this is the best I've come across. Few issues here and there but I'm happy with the outcome. I've actually put it in my Cadillac Packard display case, where I think it holds its own! And as we can see there's no 1/25 being noticeably smaller here either.

Tell me that doesn't look as good as the surrounding Mint models. That is beautiful Geoff. Job well done.🤑

Geoff the paint is unbelievable.  I would love to know how you and Geno get such glossy and smooth paint. Do you use paint booths with exhaust?  Air brush?

Beautiful build. I had no idea Jo-Han made kits of pre-war automobiles.

@rich-sufficool I totally remember building that kit years ago, gruesome prep, labor and time intensive compared to ‘regular’ plastic models but an impressive finished model. I built it while staying home from school with a really bad case of strep throat. Mine didn’t turn out half as nice as yours, even with paint help from my late model master brother. I don’t recall whatever fate it suffered, probably pitched from my parents attic along with all of my cool stuff while I was in the Army.

What a nicely built model Geoff. It certainly displays very well in your showcase.

gents thank you so much for your positive comments. Yes Kevin it was a bit of long haul! Rich Chris M has posted some extra interesting info on the old Johan kits in the Handicraft forum. John N more good luck than good management with the paint. I've found that the silvers and golds go on so smoothly and evenly, no matter how hard I try to bugger them up! This is the red. I rarely look at facebook or youtube but I recall from ages ago one recommending these paints. Found this at the local big box hardware store. The red looked so deep and rich I thought I'd try it, at least on the underside first. And the results are great. One major issue however is it takes a good 72 hours to completely dry to the sanding and full on handling point.
