Hi there. I am looking for 2 Karmann Ghia models 1967 made by Paul's Model Art PMA 1 and 2 mentioned on this sites carlist. They were made in red and silver. The only 2 Karmanns i can find are those made by Minichamps 1970 in 12 colours and the one by Franklin mint. So did they really exist and does anyone have pictures of them? I never found them and can't find any pictures on the web. I believe if they really exist they should have round indicators (like FMs model) instead of square ones below the headlights.
I have 3 Ghias by Pauls Model Art 'Classic Line' A red cabriolet with beige/brown interior; A silver hardtop with off white/gray interior; and a black cabriolet with red interior and luggage rack on the trunk. They all have the rectilinear front parking lights. I believe they are all similar to the ones that you show?
I owned a '66 black cabriolet which had round parking lights in front. I believe the '67 still had them?
I have not mastered including a photo on the site. Can send you directly try if interested?
Not expert on these, but I think you already have them. PMA is Minichamps. PMA1 is red cabriolet. See this completed listing on eBay 353842117945. Box is PMA, the product is labeled Art.Nr.245010. Same Art.Nr. is listed in the "Minichamps" review Model Details – The Diecast Zone The year "1967", in the 2 separate PMA listings misspelled "Karman" in the database, may be an error.
This post reminded me that I needed these two cars in 1:43. So thanks! Just snagged both on ebay (Maxichamps brand though).
Thanks for the reply and research. I have the red cabrio and silver coupe and i think your theory is plausible. Also confusing is that Minichamps is still labeled Paul's model art on the boxes. Than i don't have to look any further for more PMA 1/24 models because i have the complete serie now. The green 770k is on it's way to me. 😁
These 2 are great too, but i think they were already branched Minichamps. The red white is very rare to find 😁
Great pics. These 2 i have. I love the Karmanns. They are the last nice formed cars in the 70s. After 1970 cars became more and more sqaure formed exept for the Porsche 911s
@donderbeestje great lineup of Karmann Ghias, I only have the red convertible, but will add a coupe. Was originally happy to grab anyone but after Rich pointed out a while back that later versions were much better made, I've become fussy. Congrats on the green 770K. They are very hard to find. I love the red/maroon version so much, I'd grab a green one if I could. Please post some pics when it arrives.
Thank you. I will post some pictures in a couple of weeks. ETA 13 of March😔 so have to wait a little. It will need some repairs and cleaning but i am looking for this green version. I found out that it is limited to 1000 pieces.
@donderbeestje When I pulled the two out of the cabinet and look on the bottom of both has Pauls Model Art molded into the sub frame.
Checked the 6 cars i have too. All 6 of them only have the text: Paul's Model Art Classic Line. So no Minichamps on the bottom, only on 3 boxes (have 3 without box). So i think there are no versions of 1967 only by PMA as listed, so might be the 1970 versions doublelisted. I hope i am wrong and there are actually 2 cars from 1967...
After some research on minichamps.de and kharmann-ghia.nl i found out there were 11 Karmann Ghia's by PMA and MiniC. : In total 6 convertibles (241245010 / 11 / 13 / 14 / 15 / 16) and 5 coupé's (241245000 / 01 / 03 / 04 / 05). Also found out there were 3 BMW s from 1994/1995. I thought there was only 1....
@geoff-jowett I bought two of those green 770s over time and both arrived damaged beyond repair.
😔 The seller promised me to pay extra attention on packaging. It is one without the original box so... 😅
