The '68-'71 was a time of great change in this country and during that time, I was in Southeast Asia working for my Uncle... Sam. I read about Woodstock, Kent State, etc. in the "Pacific Stars and Stripes" and my separation from American culture continued when I got back working and schooling and raising a family 7 days a week. The C3 Corvette was always a mysterious but beautiful car to me. I didn't know anyone who had one, never even got close to one or obviously never sat in one. I got some of the early FM models but they didn't show me much... even things like where and how does the top retract down to where you fill the gas tank from. This DM '68 427 Vette model answered all my questions down to "where the hell is the battery?". It is so replete in details and working features it's almost like owning a real one.... well, not really.... I can't sit in it all that well.
Rich, your pictures are amazing. You would think you were looking at the real car. Thanks for sharing.

When you have a realistic model.... they're easy home runs.
Fabulous pictures and commentary.
Easy home runs ? For you, Rich, they're more like Grand Slam Home Runs !
Great photos, Rich. That's probably my favorite Corvette in my collection. I still enjoy taking it out of the display and looking at it from time-to-time. Seems like I notice new details with each viewing.
