New 1:24 Scale models- reply to post #53947
As we move forward with new 1:24 Scale models , we want to hear your input! We NEED it! We are still in the early stages, but we will be looking to this group for ideas and suggestions.
The first model has been decided by the manufacturer and with the level of excitement that you have all shown us, we have no doubt that this "test" will be a success! We do currently have licensing with Ford and Cadillac, so keep this in mind when making suggesting (at least for the time being).
As in all business it will all come down to the numbers. Is it cost effective? That is why we feel so strongly that YOU are a very important (if not the most important) part of this project. For this to work, I see this as a 3-way partnership between, All of you, Mint Models/Legacy and the manufacturer. We need to listen to your requests, make cost effective choices based on those requests and work with the manufacturer to make those models a reality.
I hope you are all as excited as we are!
I will definitely keep you all posted on everything as it happens. Keep the suggestions coming (keeping the current licensing in mind).
What is the car selected?
Please refer to my post 53949.4 Taking clues from your licensing agreements, Mercury is owned by
Ford and the LaSalle name was a part of Cadillac. The 1954 - 1956 Mercurys, 1958 Ford, 1961 - 1963 Cadillacs, and the 1940 LaSalle Coupe would give us a good start. Thank you for hearing us!!!
Having owned a number of 1:1 Lincolns, I am a fan of the marque and would love to see a variety of that make.

Here are my choices for upcoming models based on the information provided. In no particular order.
56 Cadillac Coupe de Ville
58 Cadillac 4 door Fleetwood
56 Mercury Sun Valley
54 Mercury 2 door Monterey Coupe
PIC: Thanks for another update Michelle. You've got my thoughts from our conversation and my posts here on the Forum.
I see renewed excitement with your announcements of forthcoming 1:24 scale cars, and again let me say that you know I'm on board and will support new releases with my pocket book open.
To all my fellow car lovers here on the Forum, please be open-minded about this venture. Share your thoughts here about the cars you'd like to see and please remain positive as this return to 1:24 takes baby-steps.
With our support both with idea's and buying the new releases, the possibility now exists that many of our personal "Wish List" cars can become reality.
I'm willing to hold my breath again for a '57 Oldsmobile. photo no longer available

I'm on board, Tim, with the 1940 LaSalle Coupe and a 1954 or 1955 Mercury.
First of all - 'thanks' for the update / reply. Now, considering the parameters you've given...
... here are the '2' basic ideas that came to my mind right away.
- I fall in line with George S. on the '53 - '54 Mercury 2-door hardtop -or- convertible. But, I'm also a fan of the Lincoln (same years)
- DM did a fantastic job on their '57 Cadillacs. I've got the Seville / blue and the Biarritz convertible. But, I am among many who thought that DM picked the wrong Cadillac's' to do. That 'Eldo / Biarritz' rear quarter / fins left me 'FLAT'. The 'standard' rear quarter / fin on the Coupe Deville is MUCH better looking
So...I would love to see a '57 or '58 Cadillac Coupe Deville done.
My Dad had a 1:1 '58 Coupe Deville Series 62 (2-door hardtop) which was 'white over red'(exterior) with a white interior. Man, was that a beautiful car. So, my preference is '58; but, a '57 would be fine....as long as it has the 'standard' rear quarter / fins.
Michelle...thanks in advance for all your efforts. We noticed.
Absolutely gorgeous! Please someone make this in 1/24!!!
Would love to see 1964 Ford Galaxie 500XL
I'll take anything that has not already been DONE! But I do like Studebakers!

Interesting, with what you have said I will limit my suggestions to
Cadillac & Ford for now.
for Cadillac
1950-1953 Coupe de Ville or conv
1957-1958 Coupe de Ville or conv
1961-1966 Coupe de Ville or conv
If LaSalle is included-anything, but most certainly anything from 1934
for Ford
1952-1954 Coupe or Sedan
1955-1956 Country Squire
1957-1958 Fairlane Sunliner or Victoria
1959 absolutely anything
1960-1961 Galaxie Starliner
1962-1964 Galaxie hdtp or conv
1967 Galaxie
as far as Mercury or Lincoln. You name it, anything from either in any year.
