Should I be woke enough to remove the front license plate?

Rich, unless somebody can prove that a plantation master owned a 1977 Trans Am, I think you should leave it as is.

We can't change history because we don't like what happened, we can only learn from it.

This is one of my favorite cars, and the movie IS my favorite movie.

Well Rich, how do YOU feel about it ?

If it were mine, I'd be leaving it as is.

 Can’t recall the front plate on the Bandits trans Am but it’s a model not a 1:1: leave it be!

That front plate was the state of Georgia's flag from 1956 until 2001:

Partial look at it from the first movie. Sally Field & Burt Reynolds:

Better look at it here:

And later with just the character's moniker on the front plate of the different Trans Am:

@evan-morgan I'm all for historical accuracy. The forces of historical revisionism have taken it to Orwellian levels lately.

@perrone1

She did look good in the movie Tony! I was 12 years old when I saw the movie in the theater, and what an impression the car and Sally made on me! Burt was my hero after seeing it!

I love your advice!  I'm so frustrated with people wanting to remove statues, monuments, and historical sites because they don't agree with them today.

Don't worry about being "WOKE" Rich, your like a cartoon where the alarm clock is going off, a band is playing, a firetruck is there with sirens and the character is still sleeping. It's OK, this stuff use to bother me but now I appreciate it. If we only listen people tell us who they are all the time. All this, including my post, just aren't needed on a model car site IMHO.

The T/A is sporting a plate showing the Georgia state flag in that time period?  No logical reason to change it...it's period correct and not offensive at all IMHO.
