As this model is a bit pricey for my budget, I decided to take a punt on an auction offering, with a couple of tiny imperfections.  She will need some dusting and then a bit of the Novus treatment, before I see what will be required to remove the two blemishes you will see in the photos.  If I am unable to restore it to concours condition then I will set it up in a small shop with mechanics laboring over it.  I will just have to find quality period figures, for this one.

And, here is what I hope she will look like after I attend to her:

@perrone1  Thank you, TP, and here are a few pics of her, after she arrived.  I will be doing a thorough cleaning as soon as my Novus kit arrives, and I have to say I was surprised at how good she looks already, and she arrived undamaged and complete.

A wonderful piece of automotive history. I received this model at it's introduction and have displayed it proudly ever since. Good luck with the restoration GDH.

@bob-jackman   Thank you Mister Jackman.  She is a beauty and goes well with the photo of moi standing next to the 1:1 from the Northern California Marine Association dinner at the Blackhawk Museum. I thought it a very special motorcar even then.

@bob-jackman   My maternal grandmother was big on social functions and she took me under her wing at an early age (five), teaching me how to use seventeen pieces of cutlery, which of the four glasses in front of me was for the white wine, etc., and how I should address my elders respectfully, at all times.  I am a newbie, here, and though most of the members are not that far ahead of me in age, I look upon you gentlemen as sensei (teachers), and I would never have addressed my sensei by his first name.  It's become ingrained after so many years, though the funny thing is I do remember his first (and last) name after all of these years.

However, I will call you Bob, from now on (as long as my memory is functioning on that day) and I hope you will forgive me in the future if, again, I address your father, instead.  Do you have a brother named Hugh, by any chance?

Nice find. I don't know what's wrong with your model but if you need any closeups of a mint model let me know and I will post them for you.

@gdh I too was raised to call my elders  by their formal names unless directed otherwise. I do have a brother but his name is Bill.

@rich-sufficool   Thanks for the offer.  There are two minor blemishes on the right rear flank of the body and if it was truly tulipwood veneer I could fix that in a jiffy.  Two of the areas I will address appear to be 'dings' (circled in the accompanying pic) and the rest is dust or schmutz.  I have several sizes of cosmetic brushes which I bought for this purpose and they have already done what they can do to improve the model.  Now, it will be up to elbow grease and Novus.

@gdh You have caused me to take another look at my copy of this great model. Far too many times I just walk past my models without taking time to study them again. All I can say is I love it love it, love it.
