Here are two very nice 1/24 scale diecast and plastic model kits that I have  They were done by kit maker Monogram many years ago and having come across them during a move, they need to be put together and properly painted.

They look quite good and the 1/24 Ford Thunderbird looks much like a similar scale pre-built T-Bird that I have by MotorMax. Perhaps the diecast mold was shared by different makers. The MG is a fine model, too and both need to be put together !

They do look really nice, Tony ! Correctly painting them and using the right adhesives would be the major points. Many years ago I built the 1/24 Packard phaeton and the Model SJ Duesenburg and I still have them packed away.

I wondered about the painting. Do you have colors in mind for the two yet?

Those do look great. I've done a couple diecast kits and they went together really nice. Here's the ones I've done. The Punisher GTO was built from the Testors diecast Judge kit. 🙂

These two are Welly.

And this one in progress from the Testors diecast Charger kit.

I don't have any colors chosen yet, Tony and I will have to break out my airbrush and chose/use the correct paint. I did paint my 1/24 diecast Duesenberg a two-tone blue when I was a kid.

I painted a 1/18 1963 Dodge Polara blue and a 1/18 1974 Dodge Grand Monaco green for a couple of Diecast Pub model entries in their contests years ago and I recall I used grey primer followed by color coats. I think they were enamels but they may have been lacquers.

Geno, those model car builds look awesome ! It obviously took some work yet the results are quite worth it. It is a way to add replicas perhaps not done as diecast models.

@mikedetorrice Thanks Mike, you nailed it. I'm kind of a movie car buff. I know the Mints gave us a few, so I'm trying to add some of the others. 🙂

Excellent ! I believe the (?) ICMDB - Internet Car Movie Data Base may still be around and on-line. It listed and showed photo-captures of hundreds of various automobiles shown in movies, either as a main part or as a subsidiary or bit part player. Obviously, something like the movie "Bullitt" would feature a certain Ford Mustang and a Dodge Charger.

@perrone1 I built the TC years ago and finished it in BRG with red interior. It turned out really nice, but it was a real chore prepping the body and getting it smooth enough for paint.

The proper preparation work on a diecast body can really help with a good finish and an overall resulting nice model.

Thanks MUCH, Mike, Geno & Kevin!! Great info here guys! Good paint prep and a decent quality airbrush is, apparently, a must in achieving good results. Lead on fellas!!

@perrone1 you're welcome Tony. I've never used an airbrush. Just plain old rattle can, wet sand, and polish. 😊

Modelers achive great results with both airbrush and cans. I recall I even saw some fine results by someone just using really good brush techniques with proper preparation and paint consistency.
