This is a big DeSoto from 1946, as done in resin from White Box. The tires can be reversed to give it a black-wall look, although here they are done in PS. The big DeSoto isn't really one of the giant 9 passenger Suburbans and I think Goldvarg has beautifully done one of these airport limo-type automobiles, but this one still looks great and displays/photographs really well.
Thanks, Tony ! I am very happy with this '46 DeSoto and I also have a big 1/43 1947 Chrysler Windsor, too.
In 1/24 and 1/18, the 1948 Chrysler Town and Country has been done and Signature also did a standard 1948 Chrysler. My Signature unfortunately succumbed to corrosion but I also still have the Motor City Classic 1/18.
I remember seeing a photograph of Bob Hope showing off his 1947-48 Chrysler Town and Country with with white "trim rings" to simulate a white wall look.
Oooops, this should be in the 1/43 Forum. Perhaps a mod can move it to the correct section.

Cool! Years ago my brother-in-law owned one very similar.

That would be a very nice 1:1 ! It's a quite attractive-looking and reliable automobile and certainly in those years the Chrysler Corporation cars stressed solid, good engineering over everything. With Virgil Exner's rise to design chief, by the early 1950's, Chrysler, like Harley Earl at GM, began to highlight design and exterior features/looks also as a major factor, too.
This one, although it is not actually the huge 9-passenger Suburban, would make a terrific diecast/resin/white metal model in any scale. I think, at least, Chrysler Town and Country automobiles have also, for good reason, been done in all scales 1/43, 1/24 and 1/18.
As far as I am concerned, all DeSotos make for excellent models in every scale and material !
The "no-frills" DeSoto looks great ! Those years DeSoto and Chrysler cars were attractive, solid-looking automobiles and engineering was a major strong point for Chrysler Corp cars. Soon, with Vigil Exner, exterior design and styling would also play a more important role, too.

Yes sir! BIG +1 !!
wow Mike! Really super cool pics of a really nice looking model. That "waterfall" grill on the DeSoto has always been a favorite of mine. Also really like the "line-up" of other cars you shared. That Oldsmobile jumped out at me.

@perrone1 The Labatt's tanker is gorgeous! I regret not getting around to buying it back then.
These are all attractive cars and trucks in any scale ! The ideal would be all replica cars/trucks in all scales in a desired medium that could be purchased/obtained.
Perhaps someday (soon ?) affordable and easy-to-use 3-D printers (both home and commercial) will allow for reasonably priced models of whatever automobile in any scale one wants for their collection.
