PICS. So, I was potting around doing some much needed dusting of some of my diecast when
I thought I'd take some quick shots of my 1/24th/1/25th auto carrier I built some years back. It's usually displayed with a 1/2 dozen C6's loaded on it.
A few different 'vettes (sorry for the glare in the pic):

The tractor is a Kenworth T-600 from Model Power that I picked up about 6 years ago. It's 1/24th and reasonably detailed.

Looking towards the front. The trailer is a 1/25th kit from AMT. I have 2 other kits I'm planning on bashing together to make an 8 or 9 car carrier.

It takes up a good deal of real estate on the top shelf of one of my cases. But, when loaded up it looks pretty good. You see this type of car carrier usually hauling used cars around the country.

Dave, I had to get the two kits I have on E-Bay. I'm sure you can find them. You just have to keep an eye out for them. Brass would be great. I've just never worked with metal before so I stick with plastic. You have to be careful with the plastic trailer. There's not much plastic there and the FM and DM cars push the weight limit for sure. It was really meant to hold plastic models, not die cast.
I'm a rebel in that regard. L.O.L!

Hobby Brass is easy to Soldier thus an easy build if I have a pattern for the parts. Maybe even to make it work. Thanks for the Info.

This is way cool! You mentioned that it takes up space but I think the space is recouped...
... with loading up the trailer with model cars! I love it! I want one.

Gene, I still want to get one of the DM carriers. Wish I had pulled the trigger years back when they came out. Still on my bucket list at some point.

Marlowe, indeed the space would be about the same. I'm more restricted by the overall height once the trailer is loaded. So, it sits at the top of one of my cabinets. Can't see the cars that well, but it still looks impressive up there.

Rick thanks for posting the pictures of your auto transport.
It's hard to tell that the trailer is 1/25 scale because the cars fit so well. Good job on the building of this rig.

Bob, yes the smaller narrower cars fit OK. If you put the C6's in the bottom, the mirrors are so wide that you have to tilt and turn the cars to get them on that first bottom rack. No problem with any cars on the top rack.
You'll see in the pics that I used the '53 vette, Prowler, Countach and the Corvette Nomad models. Those are narrower so they roll right on.
The big Duesy's and Caddy's would never fit on the bottom.

Rick, I feel certain that the Duesies and Caddies probably wouldn't have fit in 1/1 scale either.

it dosnt matter anyway! I dont think any owner of a 1:1 would transport ...
A Duesenberg on an "open" style carrier anyway! Closed trailer for sure.
