Here's the Franklin Mint '57 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner as a comparison. Of course, the comparison isn't really fair. It's a much older model rife with old tech and much lower parts count a a time when Danbury Mint was in solid second place. It has dog leg hinges, tampo  badges and scripts. The engine lacks plumbing and wiring and the gold tone side spear insert lacks texture. It does have a nicely done interior and dash, and, to its credit, actually has much tighter panel gaps than the DM. Although I have the original red/white issue, I'm showing the prettier (IMHO) blue/white LE from Vickie's Gifts.

Ad this is my favorite of the 4 issued by FM. The light blue/white just looks right.

Very nice.  Quite rare, too.  Commands a good price when available.  A new in box model sold in April on that other auction site for $330.  I have the original "paint error" red & white version.  It was my third FM 1:24 model back in the early 1990s.  I hadn't discovered DM yet.  Except for the decal-type badging, I really like it.  And the top works perfectly.  It still looks brand spanking new. No flaws whatsoever.  And it's very heavy.

I have the red and white "error" version and this blue and white beauty.  Great pics as always Rich, but I would point out that this was actually a Tinderbox LE.
