The 1965 Buick Riviera Gran Sport was the first generation of their personal luxury model (1963-'65). Unlike the 2nd generation, the design has a very aggressive look to it. The clam shell headlamp covers were quite a surprise back then and I loved its dynamic presence. For 1965, Buick made standard their 360 HP dual quad 425 cid "Super Wildcat" V8 with oversized exhaust system and a 3.42:1 Positraction rear end. Its rigid X frame, special king pin front suspension, heavy duty finned drum brakes with wide tread, lower profile tires got rave reviews for its handling. Used as James Dalton's "beater car" in "Road House", I cringed every time one got trashed.

Rich, that Riviera model in that color combo is a K.O. 👍
I love this model! The rocker molding and wheels set it off perfectly.
I have the blue one. I think the Riv looks good in every color Jim offered.
@whodeytink Mark, I also have the blue one and agree all the colors look great.
@whodeytink The blue was a very popular GM color back then. If I had to pick just one, I would have gone with this one.
