DM's 1948 Chrysler Town & Country convertible was a really nice surprise decades ago. It had leather upholstery, a beautiful 3D juke box styled dash and a nice cast Chrysler emblem on the hood. Those early 1st gen T&Cs actually began production in 1941-42 so post war production virtually immediately in 1946. I was always surprised that for the top of the line marque of the Chrysler Corporation the engine choice was just a 251 cid flat head 6 that produced a mere 114 HP. Their 1st gen wood doors and body panels used ash for the stiles and rails and Honduras mahogany for the panels.... until 1948 when the panels were replaced with (gasp!) VINYL!!! So, my first woody wasn't a real woody after all.
Beautiful pictures of a great convertible.
It is a hot little number for a huge car.😁💯
its a beauty, my second ever DM from Roy Rauch, all those years ago now.
