The Lotus Seven is a small, simple, lightweight, two-seater, open-top, open-wheel, sports car produced by the British manufacturer Lotus Cars between 1957 and 1972.

It was designed by Lotus founder Colin Chapman and has been considered the embodiment of the Lotus philosophy of performance through low weight and simplicity. The original model was highly successful with more than 2,500 cars sold, due to its attraction as a road legal car that could be used for clubman racing.

After Lotus ended production of the Seven, Caterham bought the rights and today Caterham makes both kits and fully assembled cars based on the original design known as the Caterham 7.

Nice little kit commonly and cheaply available.

Actually just checking these after posting, I've really got to have a go at wiring an engine haven't I?

"Nice little kit commonly and cheaply available"....your analysis is similar to my social goals back in the Nineties Surprised Geoff

...............despite your choice of adjectives, you`ve assembled a VERY attractive work.....BRAVO !!!..........

That Tamiya kit is a very nice one Geoff and you have done an impressive job. The imaginary owner must be a serious racer as he transports it rather than driving it to events.
I have several models of this car and have even driven the full sized version has a neighbour owns a Caterham Seven. His is dark green with a polished aluminum engine cover.

thank you gentlemen, as always your comments and encouragement mean a lot. What a thrill driving one would be David. Would turn a few heads I would imagine!

The car hauler was a recent buy from D4C member and professional ebay seller Rich Faber (kirbycars on ebay) Like receiving a new model from DM with Rich. I meant to respond to Georges recent repaint post with pics but somehow overlooked it. One point in Georges post being how great it is to see subtle detail as well as color changes. I've had the Budweiser stake truck version for years and I'd suggest the detail changes are bit more than subtle. The hauler is a superb model. Interesting detail and features everywhere. My pics of course dont do it justice, but if you dont have it and really appreciate to scale miniaturization as I do its a must have.

Thank you for your flattery, Geoff. I truly appreciate the kind words. I'll return the favor and say that your little Lotus looks outstanding! Just lovely work! I'm pleased it found a nice home on a truck I sold to you! It looks great there!

Best,

Rich
