Of all the Packard models I've collected over the years, this 1936 Dual Cowl Phaeton by Danbury Mint just blew me away. I consider this model as one of their high watermarks and swan song as it came just before the demise of their diecast division. It's sad that the 1/24 product line of FM, DM, PMA and CMC all ended on high notes.
Beautiful model, beautifully photographed and I agree with your thoughts Rich.
Rich Great Photos. I agree with what you and Bob both said. I sure do miss the days of receiving the postcards and flyers for new models in the mail.
I agree. It is a fantastic model which I wish that I had purchased back then. Franklin and Danbury are greatly missed.
@david-green Who knew it would be the end of an era?
Beautiful pics Rich of a superb model, thanks. Seeing the coupe Tony has its just so sad to imagine what else they would have done with the tooling.
@larry-kemling I really don't follow secondary market prices. Was that MIB Packard very expensive? I'm always surprised how the prices commanded for different models seem totally unrelated to their quality. For example, FM's original World's Fair Ford model barely commands $60 on the secondary market when it was one of their best in quality build, parts count and operating features.
$125+Tax&shipping….I considered it a absolute bargain!👍🏻☺️
A favourite..
