As an example, this is DM's 1957 Chrysler New Yorker convertible. For me this year model was the perfect expression of their "Forward Look" design with its body gradually rising from the nose to its rakish tail fins. But what I find most enjoyable is the easily viewed interior with its color pallet, textures, patterns and trim that define the decade as much as any other elements. It's all kind of kitschy 65 years later but, none the less, fascinating, yet, nostalgic.

I have every 57/58 Chrysler that DM made, except the custom. Absolutely love the forward look of all Chrysler products those years.
Rich,
Forgive the nit pick. Â The chrome left headlight insert surround seems to have fallen off. (Common occurrence on mine)Â
Look around its perch, it is some where.
Mark, I too have all of the 57/58 Chryslers that DM made except the custom.
@stanton-lyman I saw that on the photo and I thought maybe it was the reflection of the black surround. Considering I do my photography outdoors and these pics are 12 years old, I don't hold out much hope. BTW: Good eyes!
It really was an exciting era for styling and color offerings wasn't it? This car always struck me that it was smiling broadly; with its gaping grille.
