Okay, this is probably a strange response.  I've really never been a fan of convertibles.  Reason being that a "Top" on any car is part of the design of a car.  For example, the '57 Oldsmobile hardtop.  It's the rear three-piece window arrangement that makes that Olds so gorgeous.  Take away the roof, and put a "rag top" on it, that "three-piece" window is gone.

I could use countless other examples, but this one popped in to my head first.  So to answer the question asked, "Top up or Top down", I chose neither and give me a hardtop.

when I started buying diecast a few years back,I stuck with convertibles so as to accommodate drivers/passengers........getting folks to bend their knees has proven a greater challenge than I anticipated

Check out Hollis' post today John - link to follow. In his waiting room shot (1st pic) note the guy at the right end of the bench and his friend on the creeper next to him. Both, I presume, sold as such to necessitate your exact needs, or otherwise modified by Hollis.

I think you are being a bit too critical of yourself JayBee; your critter collection alone is fantastic and the abundance of pigs really brings home the bacon IMO.  How many people have Llana the Llama for example?  Then there is the multitude of humans...including the very rare Blue Aqua Velva Gang!  Your collection rocks JayBee!
