In these hills, if our pigs do not find truffles or ramps, we have pork BBQ.

Ramps ?.......well I`m glad I came in to work today......learned something new !!......forest fresh ramps, wrapped in paper thin slices of broiled pork tenderloin, drizzled with a balsamic reduction

ramps

I suppose a pig that can only follow a single curved track section has to expect a dinner invitation sooner, rather than later

To be fair...the pig did find a track.  A fair compromise, given the circumstances, would be to grill and eat just one hind quarter and leave him to retire gracefully.  Perhaps inviting him to the  barbecue would be a respectful gesture to facilitate closure as well.
