No worries. Normally I wouldn't have noticed it because they almost look the same except for the bright yellow wheels. But I was focused because I found and bought the Danbury 1931 Chevrolet on monday for only 7 euro (8 dollars) and couldn't believe my eyes after studying the sellers pictures that it was really a Danbury for that price.

Right; the wheels give away the difference on DM's '29 Dodge Merchants Express truck

Reliable Friday! Today, we have a 1989 Toyota Celsior. Toyota gave these model cars to the first 100 Celsior customers. In the U.S., Toyota sold a version of the Celsior under the name Lexus LS400. In Japan, the Celsior was available in three trims - Type A, B, and C. Contrary to popular belief, the Celsior Type C was actually more luxurious than the LS 400. It featured an adjustable, electronically-controlled air suspension system, rear HVAC and audio controls, massaging seats, a rear-mounted TV, and high-end cloth upholstery.

This curbside model has a diecast body and chassis, with poseable front wheels. Despite being 34 years old, the paint is shining and flawless. The back-stamp only indicates "Made In China," with no information on the model maker provided.

Enjoy!

Awesome Saturday! Here is a fantastic sample from the Franklin Mint – 1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS with the L89 option.

The L89 option was a special package that included a number of upgrades to the Camaro's engine and drivetrain, making it one of the most powerful cars of its time.

The heart of the L89 option was the 396 cubic inch V8 engine, which was capable of producing up to 375 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque. This was achieved through a number of enhancements, including an aluminum intake manifold, high-performance camshaft, and lightweight aluminum heads. The engine was also paired with a close-ratio 4-speed manual transmission, which provided quick and precise shifts.

Other features of the L89 option included a special 12-bolt rear axle with a 3.73:1 gear ratio, heavy-duty suspension components, and power front disc brakes. The exterior of the car was also upgraded, with SS badging, a blacked-out grille, and unique striping.

Enjoy!

I'm pretty sure the Toyota was sold here in Australia as a Lexus, albeit with a few minor tweaks. The Camaro in that color scheme is sensational, what a great model to have Lu.

Love the '68 Camaro, too bad FM never put it into production.  You are very fortunate to have this gem, Lu!

Found this on the local ebay. My first metal model kit. While its diecast it is a much heavier metal than that used by the mints etc. Cabin, chassis, wheels, radiator and hood all metal and the tray, and interior parts are plastic. I haven't painted any of the metal, just "wooded" the tray and painted the seats and barrels. Moderately difficult to build, hard to adjust some poorly fitting parts but I'm pleased with the outcome. It came "pre-scratched and pre-chipped" which adds to the realism. I know nothing of the kit maker, which is a shame because if more were available I'd add them. Hoping Lu, Chav, Bob? or anyone else really may know more about Mac Distribution? Google search just brings up military vehicles in varying scales. The instructions and truck info are mostly in Czech with a small English part. Praga info section says company began in 1907 and this 1928 truck was widely used.

Ram Air Tuesday! Here we have a 1970 Oldsmobile 442 W-30 from the Danbury Mint. The ram air induction system was designed to force cool air directly into the engine's air intake system. This system included a hood with functional air scoops and a special air cleaner that allowed the engine to breathe more efficiently. The W-30 option also included a high-performance camshaft, lightweight aluminum intake manifold, and high-flow exhaust system, which made it one of the most powerful muscle cars of its time. Enjoy!
