yep great one horsepower animals, interesting breed, the longer hair on the fetlocks are usually found on draught horses but these beauties, although big, I dont think are thick set enough. I'd say the smaller horse in the middle is a thoroughbred, at least part. Nearly all our police horses here in Melbourne now are retired racehorses.

You certainly know your horses Geoff! Raised in Florida, I grew up around thoroughbreds. We owned a tavern inside the Hialeah Park Race Track. The center horse does, indeed, look like a thoroughbred. I had no idea that police were using race-retired horses, but that sure makes good sense!
The others do look to be a form or mixed breed of draught horses. Not Percheron since they are grey to black. Don't look like Belgians or Clydesdales and certainly too small for the largest breed, the Shire. Beautiful nonetheless!

likewise Tony. Beautiful animals, love then dearly.

Having lived across the street from Grant's Farm in Crestwood, Missouri for twenty five years, the Anheuser Bush Clydesdale pasture was just outside our front window. I can assure you that the two larger horses are indeed Clydesdales.

Thanks Bob! They looked like Clydesdales but a little too dark, but they do have color variations - thanks for the confirmation!
*Edit. In my mind's eye they looked too dark. So I went back to an airshow where we saw the Blue Angels in 2016. The Budweiser Clydesdales were there and I shot a few pics of them. You're absolutely right. Here's a couple shots I took of the little darlings!
wow what a wonderful contribution, thanks Bob. Interesting here in Melbourne for many years we also had a team of much loved brewery Clydesdales.
Just a little about them
@perrone1 They are big gentle babies.
We watch the tv show, "Gentle Giants" on the RFD Channel. They cover the large breeds, draught horse and regularly showcase Percherons, Belgians, Shires and Clydesdales.
when they do the owners of the Clydesdales say exactly that!
Only problem is when they snuggle up to sleep with you - they hog the covers!
