Sample Saturday! Here we have a 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Indy 500 Pace Car sample from the Danbury Mint. This is the second one in my collection, so I’m displaying both versions: one with the fender skirts on and one with them off for comparison. In the last photo, you’ll see the tooling sample used for graphic positioning approval. Although the Franklin Mint released their version first, the Danbury Mint model never fully made it to market, making this sample all the more special. Enjoy this glimpse into what could have been!
scary!!
TERRIFIC stuff Lu - THANKS!
Buick Wednesday! Here we have a Buick Verano Pro. This model is a unique one – all the body panels are held together by magnets, so there are no opening features. However, the craftsmanship is top-notch, featuring beautifully detailed photo-etched badges.
Stay tuned over the next few days as I’ll be sharing a few variations of this beauty. Enjoy!
@geoff-jowett I'm a bit unclear about what you're asking. To clarify, the real Buick Verano was manufactured in both the United States (from 2012 to 2017) and in China (from 2010 to the present). The model shown here is produced by Shanghai Jiachang Industrial Co., Ltd.
