Prototype Sunday! Today we have a 1940 Ford Pickup from FM. This model was proposed for the Ford Motor Company’s Centennial celebration. It is quite similar to the red and black service truck; however, this one carries a couple of small parts in the bed and I forgot to take a picture. Enjoy!
Red Eyes Saturday! Here we have a 1979 Aston Martin RHAM V8 from FPP Modelos. This one is built by Fernando Pinto, I guess you can call it factory-built. The front wheels are not poseable. It is permanently fixed in that position. Enjoy!
where do u find these rare and exquisite pieces Lu? I'd never heard of FPP Modelos. Google them and there is just one retailer listing a number of, to me, highly desirable 1/24 race car models. There are 2 kits listed on ebay for $350 each.
Fernando Pinto is a model builder and pattern maker located in Portugal, he has a store on eBay where he sells kits, you can also contact him to build the kit for additional price. His eBay ID is fppmodels, it used to be called crazycar19. Here is a link: https://www.ebay.com/sch/fppmodels/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=
thanks Chav, there are indeed some great kits there. I love old open wheel racers, and that Ferrari Bertone is to die for! Sort of thing I'll treat myself too after I'm confident enough with my building skills to know I wont stuff it up!
Dodge Monday! Here we have a 1994 Dodge Intrepid from Brookfield Collectors Guild. It is not as intricate as FM/DM products, but all four doors, hood, and trunk are functional, and the front wheels are steerable. It was refreshing to see a model of a modern vehicle when others were focusing on vintage cars. Â
Long Race Tuesday! Today we have a 1907 Thomas Flyer from FM. The dirty one is the New York to Paris Race 100th Anniversary edition. The clean one is the regular version. The insane race took place more than a century ago. In terms of time taken, it is still the longest motorsport event ever held – 169 days. It takes a #1 model car to represent the champion of the world’s most time-consuming race. Enjoy!
Found this rare Glasurit Promotion BASF 1957 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Limited Edition by Franklin Mint. Should be an exact replica of the same rare 300SL Gullwing that is owned by BASF. The interior is red instead of the blocked grey/brownish seats and light brownish interior. Rest of the car is equal to the 1954 300SL except for the plates reading BASF 57. Never saw this FM before so very pleased with it.Â
@perrone, do you know anything more about this car? Do you know if this red interior was specifically designed for BASF or that this 300SL was bought by BASF and than redesigned. 🤔

The FM model was made for BASF and is painted with Glasurit paint. I believe it represented the original car in it's colors at the time the model was commissioned. I saw the BASF car somewhere around 2015-16 and the BASF car was already repainted in 2 color scheme. Will look to find my pictures of the original car, I believe the interior was red.

What Chav said! I had two reviews on the model that FM sent for photos and reviews but a perfect compendium is in Chav's concise post, above.

Tony, I probably know this info from your review. I found it (link bellow) but unfortunately the text is still not accessible ...
What a fantastic and varied series of fine models over the last several day gentlemen. You have outdone yourselves. Thanks for all these wonderful posts.
Two-Tone Wednesday! Well, I was going to show a Buick color sample from my collection; however, it seems everyone is in the mood for Mercedes. Here we go – an FM 1926 Mercedes Benz Model K two-tone color sample!!! This is one of my favorites. The interior is also different from the production version. The last photo is from a recent MB oddity reunion 😊 Enjoy!
