The 1969 Mercury Cyclone Spoiler ll was the homologated street version of the Cyclone Spoiler l which was the NASCAR version that had a more aerodynamic nose rather than the stock inset grill. These cars also sported the "Sportsroof" or fastback roofline. These street version was powered by the 351 Windsor with column shifed automatic transmission and bench seats. They came in two trim packages. Sold in the eastern US was the 'good ole boy' Cale Yarborough edition in red over white, and in the western US, the Dan Gorney edition in blue over white. This was a one year only model.
Rich, great shots of both cars. I am glad to have both along with the Red/White Nascar version. The Blue/White version has eluded me.
Great writeup and pictures Rich. Have both, love both.
Another nice group, nice pics.
I have both too, they even have the keys in the ignition.

GMP did such a great job on these models, yet shortly after their release, their prices plummeted on the secondary market. I think I paid about $40 or $50 for each of mine. I was hoping that GMP would release a standard Cyclone but their 1:24 line was not well received at the time prompting them to eventually discontinue the scale. Too bad.
They are both great models. I am very happy to have both. Like Pete, I was able to pick both of them up at a rock bottom price.
