LOL, keep being wrong Douglas. Some of us like this stuff. And for those that don't, they don't have to look. It's really that simple!

Yea Patty, I'm aware they changed the Forum's. And look at how boring this 1.24 forum is most of time now.

I don't go to the lounge because I don't care for 90% of the junk that is discussed there.

Sorry that you find this forum boring. I have a question...

... if this forum is sooo boring and you don't like 90% of the "junk" in the Lounge AND you don't like any other scale AND you want to boycott Danbury Mint, then why the H-E-double-hockey-sticks do you stay around?

I find this forum very entertaining and full of knowledge. How can you find Doug, Phil, Marlowe, John M, to name a few... (the skipper too...) boring?! Are you kidding me!?

I don't have the car knowledge that these guys have and I learn so much from them. I don't find it a bit boring. I do the Newsletter and get articles from some of these knowlegable fellows and love reading and learning from them. How can you be bored. I think that is... ah... what's the word... ah... I have it... NUTTY! (LOL)

And in the lounge you are missing a lot. It's just a click away and so many 1:1 car pics that make you laugh, cry and view in awe AND Ken's wallpaper of the day... wow...

I liked the old way. It was nice (for me) to see 1:1 cars that were the subject of the diecasts.

How else can you tell how well a manufacturer did if you don't know what the real one looked like?

I'm sick of political correctness. Next we'll be changing words that describe cars because it offends someone in another country.

John, I'll answer your question...but first one for you. Why does how I feel about this forum bother you enough to interject your questions to me?

Now to answer your question...
First of all, there are great people on here as you mentioned, and I didn't say I didn't like their individual contributions and knowledge. And John, I too, have offered conversation and knowledge on this Forum.

But what you and the mods here have failed (obviously) to see is that the 1.24 forum now has days without new subject matter, and sometimes even several days in a row. Why is that John?

I'll tell you why. Because the mods on this forum caved in to a handful of posters who complained that they didn't like seeing 1.1 photos of cars. Cars, I might add that added a lot of conversation and excitement on this board everyday. We talked about them being 1.24's and told stories about them.

But when the mods caved to the select (very minor) few that didn't like the car photos and other car conversation, we were all told we had to go to the Lounge. I've looked at the Lounge John, and it is nothing more than a public garbage board that has very little to do with cars. And you know what John, those types of boards are all over the internet!

I know the 1.24 market is slow right now, and maybe even gone...we don't yet have the answer to that one. But the 1.24 board was just fine and fun to come to when cars were discussed.

And all those guys you mentioned, look at how little all of them post here now compared to when the forum was a car discussion board. And then take look at how many of them have left the D4C altogether.

It was mistake to change the 1.24 forum in my opinion John. And agree or disagree with my opinion, it is mine to have! Be assured that I'm not alone in having that opinion either. Some won't chime in, as it is not their nature to do so, but some do offer their opinions of the change. One who did is post #466634.4 below.

THE 1.24 FORUM is boring! It should have been left alone!

LOL good one Dan and i agree! I too am SICK of political correctness!

I mean my parents brought me up properly and that basically was if you dont have anything nice to say dont say anything. Naturally I will voice my opinion about things, and if I feel my toes have been stepped on I WILL snap a bit here and there. I do NOT, however, like to be nasty to people and I love people of all walks of life so in my world no politcal correctness needed. If there is an insult it is situation related and not gender, race, religion based. I say to each his own and I respect all walks of life. We're all here for a reason.

This IS our culture though and if we have a way of expressing something we should NOT have to change it because it might offend someone or their beliefs. All people are welcome to come here, and they too should respect and understand OUR beliefs and realize while it might not agree with theirs, this is OUR way of doing business and our way of living so... We're NOT doing any of it to insult them in anyway its the way it might be interpreted! Case in point some peoples religion or society believes woman should be completely covered aside from their eyes. Head to toe covered. Many Americans find this custom odd, weird, don't understand it, are afraid of it, mock it, etc.. It dosn't bother me one bit. Should we Americans say a single word about it or rip off their coverings and tell them to become "American"? NO they are welcome here just as they are! On the flip side said people don't have any more right telling OUR woman how to dress, or what to wear or how much to wear. We are free to do as we please as well! When both parties understand the differences in culture and RESPECT them, then we have a wonderful FREE and harmoneous society that's diverse in culture and we can each learn something from one another!

Sorry for ranting, just I felt this was relevant. I'm a Queens resident since birth and one probably cannot live in a more diverse place on this planet! It certainly broadens ones horizons! Smile

Now where the hell is our 1:24th scale model of this car????

While I am partial to the 65 I would LOVE each year Riviera from 1963-1969. The 1970 was a dog of a car, and the boattail was OK, I loved it as a kid, but as an adult find it kind of pointless and odd looking. It really is funny how tastes really do change! I would, however, like a 1971 Riviera (first year of Boattail) and have the nice chrome sculpted bumpers. Before the GOVERNMENT bumpers went into effect soon after! LOL
