Like I said you are much closer to the Fixes so maybe something is happening.

It has been difficult to deal with TFM because everytime i have bought something on a Credit card from them I have stolen info which in turn becomes a worldwide problem with fraudulent charges. I bought on Feb 27 and same thing happened had to change the credit card again. when I told TFM they could care less so I stopped buying. Sept 5, 2001 due to $55,000.00 worth of charges directly traceable to the Pakistan connection. It took a Year to clean up the mess and Thank God I had a 812 Credit Score because the three credit agencies finally agreed with our attorney that the info was caused by the stealing of info from an open phone system TFM used. They could have at least said something like We're Sorry and we will do everything we can to fix it so this doesn't happen again. But they did not!

When DM does a repaint they often upgrade details. The LE '53 Buick not only got engine details, but also a convertible top that was not on the original blue or maroon versions. They also went to the trouble of creating a continental spare. Some don't like the continental but it definitely took some effort to do.

If you compare the red '62 Corvette and the more recent black repaint the engine detailing was noticably upgraded.

There are probably a lot more examples of DM upgrading instead of merely repainting like FM does.

Hey David - buy your FM's from Randy!

That should cure any problems?

I agree! We need to stop complaining about multiple colors and be thankful for the new images. ๐Ÿ™‚

I, too, have absolutely no problem with multiple colors as everyone has their color preferences. At least we are seeing more new images than any other 1:24 scale manufacturer. For that we should be very happy. And, they usually do them right. JMO.

Right on!

Couldn't have said it better myself. Franklin Mint should read our comments and listen to us. They've lost a lot of the market, becasue they took it for granted that, all they had to do is announce a car....and folks will buy it.

Well, not any more! Collector's (myself being one of them) have come to expect percision to perfection when spending $150 and up, on die-cast replica's.

Competitor Danbury Mint has consistenly come through with outstanding quality, workmanship, and service. Not to mention, a plethora of new and exciting cars. They've earned my business over and over...and, I can't wait to see what other new cars they are going to produce for us.

While Franklin Mint on the hand, has more often than not, touted some decade old release as "new" by merely dabbing a different paint color on it. And, no attempt is made, to update any previous flaws or imperfections of the original release. What's even more disturbing is, Franklin Mint usually charges as much (or more) than DM for their cars.

DM is the leader...and FM is an also ran!

TFM has been upgrading scripts and details on many of it's re-paints.

Danbury really does own. Don't get me wrong. But these assumptions that TFM has not been upgrading is false. Even the Wal Mart Cars had upgrades. In particular the 1957 Corvette's interior treatments and scripts.

Randy

Knowing that you like to compile lists and statistics using empiracal data, how about a list of all the errors/historical inaccuracies that FM did not and has not corrected. Of course, we must also include DM as well so as not to portray that ONLY FM makes mistakes, even though we all know that FM is my #1 favorite "Whipping Boy" because of its "lackluster" performance.
