OK, I received the DM '55 Ford, that supposedly had issues. The main one being a missing antenna, already replaced. Plus some very minor rash in a couple of spots, already polished out and waxed. It was dusty outside and in. A few Q-tips later, the inside is clean. I thought this was going to be a good parts car,  but its a lot nicer than the seller described it, especially for twenty dollars. My dilemma? This was the car I was going to use to make the stock Ranch Wagon. It looks so good now I  hate to destroy it. Do I move forward, or wait and find a less savory candidate? Whatta yous guys think?

Well, I never liked the black and white combo so, if it was me, I'd kitbash it. But you seem to like the B/W so........ your call.

It looks terrific! I'd save it and find a better 'parts car'. It's very period correct as there were plenty B&W '55 through '57's to harken back to.

Geno, I agree with Tony.  I liked the Black and White version.  I think you can find another at the same price point that is not as nice as this one.

I agree with the others; save it as is and look for a more "tired" donor car.  If you already have this model in this color you could have some fun painting it a unique color combo from a factory color reference.  My personal choice would be to redo the white portion in Coral Mist and leave the black as is.  I'm pretty sure the interior could stay the same that way.

It is a beautiful car and even more so after cleaning up. I would happily keep this Ford and look for another one that would be ok to use for additional parts.

I agree, if you don't already have this model, it looks too good to tear it apart. Look for another, there are a lot of them out there.

I'm with the consensus here Geno, I'd keep it, especially considering there are always plenty available on ebay.

PS this one's a bit of a mess, $24.95 or offer     266854321257

I too am with the crowd especially if you don't already have the model in this color. If you do, I suggest, with your skills, to repaint to another color combination.

Thank you all, I have never had this model before and really like it. I will look for one that will be better suited as a parts car. I appreciate your input, really. 👍 😊

My thoughts are, keep this one, find another in need of some lovin',  then modify the next one into a "what if" Ranchero.

I agree you should keep it if you don't already have it. I am a little prejudice about this diecast as it was my first mint car,1/24th car and diecast car.
