@chris-sweetman it looks like the door opens but I did not force it.  It was wire tied to the base and I glued the front and rear number decals on.  I’ll have to check on the base and exhaust.  There is a substantial drive shaft and rear axle.

@frank Hi Frank This image and your information confirms this is an original issue introduced in January 1966.

Originally your model would have been held to the base by rubber bands. On the second issue this was held onto the base by a screw and the base of the model was revised to have a screw hole.

Suspension is another indicator for early issue L'Age D'Or models.

Thanks Frank for showing this magnificent scale replica from the mid-1960's.

Here is mine - I had to investigate which version I had!  Thanks, Chris!

Screwed to base, suspension, closed doors, no tail pipe! 😶 🙄

20240331 095818
20240331 100140
20240331 095948

The first versions, probably like Frank's, came in this color box:

Solido 1935 Duesenberg

L'age d'Or were more detailed and nicer than Yesteryears, plus closer to 1/43. so I collected them eons ago!

@karl Karl, the one you have is issue 3 - that it has non opening doors and other indicators - no exhaust, a screw hole base and released in a burgundy box.

Issue 2 has an exhaust, a screw hole base, opening doors and released in a red/gold box like your Duesenberg.

Frank's issue would have been in an all red box closed on all sides.

@chris-sweetman You are right, Chris.  I had forgotten about the enclosed red boxes.  I had to consult Azema (1983) -

For those who care about 1960s diecast:

1965 - enclosed red box

1967 - red window box

1974 - red with window on 2 sides

1976 - bordeaux with window on 2 sides

1979 - black with window on 2 sides

1980 - black with windows on 3 sides

The Voisin was #144 and was made from 1966 to 1982, so came in every box type!!!

Hey, I dug deeper into my l'Age d'Or box and found this first issue.  Red box, tailpipe, opening doors, suspension, attached with rubber bands (no screw).

But check out the non-black but still drab color! 🤔

I love this thread (Thanks Frank) and might have a few new Voisin PICs to share. I hope you enjoy seeing - even if duplicated Smile

Take a peek at the upholstery in each model if pic allows. Voisin's typically had a very unique pattern.
