Sometimes it's the "nothing special" cars that make good subjects. This Chevy is about as representative of styling just before World War II as can be found, and I really like the Durham Classics interpretation.
This is the Deluxe Coupe, which means it had a back seat, no leg room but a seat. When my dad totaled his '42 Pontiac late in World War II years, he bought a '41 Chevy coupe, but it was the Business Coupe. That meant it had no back seat, just a lined storage compartment. As gas rationing eased in the summer of '45, my mother and an aunt decided to drive several hundred miles to the beaches of St. Augustine, Florida, with my brother and me riding on pillows in that compartment. Great memories! Even though I was VERY young at the time. David H
A great looking Chevy coupe. Good memories attached to this '41 Chevrolet for you.
As most of us know, Durham did several versions of this car and all are very nice indeed. The blackwall tires look perfect on this model.
Nice pictures of an excellent model.. I agree with Jack regarding the black wall tires. During the war you were lucky to get tires and certainly not white walls.
