As most of us know, Sergio Goldvarg is kind enough to occasionally ask for collector input on areas of interest.  I was considering a number of models to put forward for consideration when it struck me that, to my knowledge, the 1959 and 60 Edsel station wagons have never been done in 1:43 scale.  Minichamps did a very good '58 Edsel Bermuda (for the price) but I have never seen the '59 and '60.  Is there collector interest out there to have these two done?  I know that as a station wagon fan I would like to see all three Edsel years covered in 1:43.  As an aside, I must say that the '59 Edsel is by far the least done in any body style in 1:43 by any model companies....I wonder why?  I know Buz did a '59 4drht. and a concept roadster but did anyone else?

No commercial 1960 Edsel wagons that I know of,  but I made one from a 1960 Ford Ranch Wagon.   Here are a few pics.

The 1959 was done as a four door sedan by Western long ago.

Buz did this '59 convertible, modeled after his own car "Eddie". You can see that the 4-door came first, as there are faint notches in the rear trim where the 4-door's shutlines would be.

And yes, a '59 wagon would be nice to see.

@mg-harv Harv is this convertible done by Buz a one-of then?  I like the '59 Edsel styling best of the 3 years produced; although I am aware many others don't feel the same.

@jack-dodds Mine is No. 15 of 30. I found it on a non-ebay auction this past June, and even with shipping and bidder fees, it came in much cheaper than the original price.

I never knew about this limited edition; I like it.  Good for you to come across it!

"Buz" = Buzz Lockwood?

@chav No, Buz Kirkel - he owns the masters to Conquest, Madison, WMCE (Western), and Highway Travelers white metal models. These are produced for him by SMTS in the UK. He sells them via http://store.route66modelcarstore.com/
