I have been interested in the Citroen 2CV ever since as a 13 year old kid I was given a Dinky Toy 2CV in 1958. In my collection are 2CV models by several manufacterors including Norev, Minichamps, Solido, and Universal Hobbies. Pictures of a 1982 Charleston by Universal Hobbies accompaniy pictures of 1982 Charlestons in the process of restoration.

Nice post, David. The 1:1s are getting expensive on the collectors market. While we were in France a few years ago, there was a lovely little town called Rospordin
about 20 kilometers from where we were staying. There was a garage there that specialized in restoring post-war Citroens. I visited them several times.

I don’t know about you but seeing the real car stripped down to its frame doesn’t really instill a feeling of safety!
I have the old Vitesse version. I liked this one with the folded-back roof and those oh-so-French yellow headlamps.
In 1981, while traveling through France, I saw a Chaleston in a dealer showroom - wish I'd taken a pic.
@mg-harv I know that location just by the monstrous amphibious military vehicle in the background - the Lane Motor Museum, my fav car museum in Nashville. Talk about a collection of oddballs (I mean the cars, not the guys driving them)!
John, your abandoned Citroens seem to be longing for the life they once led so l brought them back to life best I could with what I had.

@david-knight Superb! It's almost like being in Rospordin again. Thanks, David.

It was fun, John, trying to match pictures of my 1:43 scale model Citroens to pictures of those actual cars you had spotted. This forum provides such entertainment any time but especially on a snowy day like yesterday.

@randyrusk Hmm - Sometimes that also applies to those on the rally! Like the group of hippie-dressed folks who showed up at the last one and piled into a Tatra - they had planned on the M-B 280 but it blew a gasket the previous week.
Nice find, Karl. That red/ black Charleston was a sharp looking 2cv. Thanks for posting that picture.
