In 2006 Brooklin released a model of the ‘57 Oldsmobile Fiesta hardtop wagon. John Roberts did a run of highly detailed models in a number of delicious factory colors. I chose this one finished in Banff Blue and White. It’s one of my favorites.

That is a real beauty in that met. grey/white Michel. Did not know Brkln offered it.

I ordered the original in yellow and added some BMFoil and a bit of paint with this result.

Then I saw the blue/white by John White, had been hearing rave reviews, so I ordered one.

Well done John White, excellent scraping job on your repaint. (BTW - is John still in business?)

From an automotive historian's perspective these 1957 and '58 Olds (and Buick) station wagons all began life as  four door hardtops or sedans and were built into wagons by Ionia Manufacturing in Michigan. Ionia initially built woodies but made the transition to all metal wagons circa 1954 using sedans as a base.   Here is a 1954 Dodge that was also an Ionia product.

Steve, John White passed away a few years ago. He too was an artist when it came to 1/43 scale cars.
