With rare exceptions, I find my kits on the used sources and pay very little for them. Why? My building is just a hobby, and I realize my vision surpasses my abilities. Also, there is a very small market for "built" kits of most any scale; there may be exceptions for some built by masters of the art. The risk is that used kits have often been opened, sometimes started, and then abandoned for weeks, months, and often years. Little bitty parts sometimes go a-roamin.' Me? I'm just an old guy having a little fun.

As the body started to grow, some things look kind of different. The windshield? The front fenders? The bumpers? The rear end? Headlights and taillights? Testors provided little information: copyright of 1999, made in China, and the term "Beetle." But this just doesn't look like any Beetle I have ever seen.

Okay, I added the driver (from the Railmen Company in CA), substituted a couple of the several missing parts, often worked at fitting pieces for ten minutes and then waited ten hours for the glue or paint to dry. I think that's all fun!
