I got word today that the Lane Museum is open to the idea, which I first suggested to Dave Gilbert (toycargeek.com) a few months ago. If there is interest, what time of year would be best?

I admit to getting a little old for whirlwind 1100-mile round trips to Countryside (or even farther to PA), so something closer to home sure would be nice.

Harv, the NABCC will be happy to sponsor a table as well.

Unless you hear otherwise, it does not look like a swapmeet at the Lane Museum in Nashville will happen. Here's why:

1. Their meeting room only has 11 yables, and those are only 6 ft. wide. The hourly cost for the room was $50, plus $6 per person. So, assuming all yables were rented, with one person at each, and a three-hour swapment with an hour each side for setup and takedown, the cost would have been about $30. Not too unreasonable compared to Chicago shows, but that 2ft. shorter table is a bit of a killer.

2. No interest was shown on any other diecast.org forums. From Facebook and this forum I had maybe 5 tables assured and 2-3 visitors.

3. As I did a bit more research I found a number of other toy shows in TN, with a lot more tables, which would attract more visitors. I did not know about these, in Antioch (Nashville), Murfreesboro, Chattanooga, and elsewhere. It might make more sense to set sights on one of these to set up a tables to promote 1/43 as well as sell in the long run. Perhaps a presence for 1/43 could be built up like that at Countryside, in time.
