One of my favorite Lansdowne models.
Great little sports car. Drive one in 1966 just after it came out. I could have bought one new in Canada for $3100 all in. Â The Rootes, Canada General Manager was a good friend of my father. Instead I bought a Sunbeam Minx new for $1600. We had a new baby and my wife thought the Minx a more appropriate choice. I still have regrets.
Thanks Guys for the good reminder.
@frank I was in my late teens when this became a fad. If I had had that hanging out of the gas tank on my '56 Merc, my buddies would set it on fire. "Dork" wasn't a term back then but that's what I would have been. Heck, by the mid to late '60s, there was no more foxtails or fuzzy dice. 20 or 30 years later, they were nostalgic accessories for LeadSled events.
@karl The alternative back then was Gulf's pair of thin plastic horseshoes that would stick on your bumper. We had some, and so did this Ford GT.

Wow, I completely missed those! Very unlucky!
