Brooklin 221x is now "ROD 221x"! Frank Goia and Randy Bahler would be proud.
I knew before ordering one of these that the color would not be the authentic Matador Red. So it's a custom, right? My intent then was to make it look like the '57s I saw in my teen years (though most were 2-doors) to complete the hot rod look. At the same time I ordered a set of wheels from Brooklin's ROD series from Amanda. I liked the 5-spoke mags used on the '57 T-Bird, and they arrived even before the BRK model did.
Today I disassembled the model and, because the 'Bird was slightly narrower, the spacing of the wheel backers was a bit tight (parts were supplied with wheel backs and axles pre-assembled). So I used my jeweler's saw to remove the boss on the back, repainted them, and assembled the wheel/tires to the axle assemblies. The BRK was disassembled, parts swapped, and reassembled. The wider tires are a tight fit so no danger of rolling off the desk to the floor. It's 100% Brooklin, and I always have the other wheels to return this to stock.

See what Brooklins you want parts from (Google, their website, etc.), then...
..use e-mail "mail@brooklinmodels.com" to see if they still have the parts and what the price will be (Amanda Hookings will probably answer. They take paypal. Easy as pie.

Harvey, it looks fantastic. I hesitate to change mine as well.
I never change an original Brooklin, only when I have a double. In this case maybe it is not a standard/original.
Thanks for letting us know, that Amanda sells spare wheels, etc.

Those wheels and tires really suit the '57 Belair. Would also look good on the BRK '61 Impala Htp (without skirts) done up in a custom color. Hum.
