John, several issues of the Brooklin Diaries have shown development of the engine model.  I do not remember them saying what the engine is.  Do you know?

@ed-davis, it is a replica of a brand new V6, Twin Turbo Maserati engine, their first dedicated engine in quite some time. It will be introduced in the MC 20, a new hypercar from Maserati and a showcase for their newest technology. This model is one of the B to B projects that are keeping Brooklin alive while they iron out the complexities Brexit has caused in shipping products to Brooklin's largest market, Europe.  The engine is incredibly detailed and something totally new in white metal. Sometime in the next few weeks, I'm hoping to produce a video featuring it. Brooklin would love to see if there's a potential market for this sort of thing in the future.

@jkuvakas A detailed white metal engine model from Brooklin sounds fascinating, and immediately a 1/43 model of the famous Merlin engine jumped to mind as a 'what-if'. They have already stepped away from cars to model an elegant speedboat, so why not one of the most revered of aviation subjects [which of course has an automotive connection].   Because of its famous role in WWII Brooklin may have a much wider market than just its usual car collectors so I think it should sell. Folks  who closely follow WWII history or who collect related books and memorabilia may want this right on their desks.  I'll reserve job #1, thanks.

@mark-lampariello, you're on the right track, Mark. The Merlin is one of those they are discussing. I'm sure they would consider airplane engines if there was a demand.

@mark-lampariello

I would reserve number 2.  However, 1/48 scale might get wider interest.  There are many 1/48 scale diecast and high quality plastic models of Mustangs, Spitfires, etc. and the airplane collectors would find this of interest.  There have also been some fine diecast models of Mustangs in 1/32 and 1/35 scale, which could be another possible scale for a Merlin model.
