Brooklin's pictures of.......
the forthcoming '63 Olds Starfire convertible, and '36 Buick Special. Both factory specials, and are both in black as per Brooklin's new policy re specials. They are both due for release next week, and are both limited issues. I'll let you have the numbers when I know.

I think this one looks rather splendid in black, and a fine accompaniament to the old, shortlived BRK129

Sorry about the white specks on this one. They are on Brooklin's original photo.
Hi Mike, please, have you got the nex brooklin liste for 2012 ? Tank's
Not yet Renato
I am expecting the information this Month. I will email a list to you, and I will also post it here, unless someone else does it first.
Both are very nice but, I particularly like........
the Olds! I really like their idea of offering all of their factory specials in black. Though I think they should have issued the Olds as a top down, maybe a red interior? I know they did one before but, wasn't it for one of the clubs?
Yes, they did it for the UK Brooklin Collectors Club in 2006. It was the top-down version in Antique Rose, an authentic color as
seen in "Collectible Automobile" magazine some time ago. Only 200 were
made.
The Olds was originally issued as a hardtop in 1996. It was Regal Mist
Maroon, and was in production until 1999, and looked good with that cool
concave rear window a la the Pontiac GP.
I like the idea of the top-up convertibles, since convertibles don't have their
tops down all the time. We don't have many tu convertibles, so I'm really glad
that Brooklin issued this one in that configuration. I have the other Starfires,
so this will complete the set.
I don't recall a Brooklin announcement that all Factory Specials will henceforth
be black, and they didn't do that with the Hertz Shelby Mustangs. Has that
policy actually been announced? And I can't tell what color the interior of the
new Starfire is; the photos make it look silver or gold on the inside. Anyone
know for sure? JR?
Tank's Mike !!
It was announced about a year or so ago Rick, when we were informed what the 2011 releases would be. Apparently it was down to collector demand.
The Hertz Mustangs was available in black, but all the other colours have appeared too, hence the white one earlier this year.
I can't tell you what the Olds interior will be yet, but I will find out
I generally get it later in October and will then post, as usual.
I'm hoping for something really dynamic...like green and turquoise.
Factory Specials won't necessarily always be black.
At least as far as I know! The interior of the Olds is, I believe going to be gold and black.
My mistake John.
All Buick Collection Factory Specials are to be black, according to Nigel's newsletter to dealers at the beginning of the year. I supposed I was thrown with the Lagonda and Oldsmobile both being black too.
Blame me for the black Lagonda Mike! I suggested this with the wire wheels and I must admit it looks rather good. I made one to the same spec in British Racing Green for Dave Heath at Brooklin. His nickname is Mr Cheese due to a Russian lady who used to work in the front office with Amanda. She couldn't say 'Heath' and pronounced his name 'Cheese'. Needless ro say it stuck...and he's now stuck with the nickname. When I made him the model I made a tiny piece of cheese and placed it on the back seat...not real cheese of course. The triple black Olds was Nigel's idea and the model looks great.
Thanks for the insider info' John
I always wondered where "Cheese" came from; I'd assumed it was because a little cheese had aspirations to be a big cheese, unless he is already !!!!!
