Can you please identify this car?

Firstly, I apologize for the "damaged" photo, it is from a state archive, and I was asked to remove all identification marks.

It's an Oldsmobile, I assume. Cutlass? Also, any idea who converted to Ambulance use?

Looks like a full size Chevy wagon from the series 1971+. Maybe one of The Forum can pin the year quicker than my search later in the day.

It's a mid-70s Chevrolet Caprice station wagon.

If you look closely the Chevrolet badge is on the retracting lower tailgate panel. Buick's "Estate Wagon" and Oldsmobile's "Custom Cruiser" were variations of this body. Weighed about 5000 pounds

It's a 73 according to the tailights.

Either a 72 or 73- same taillights. Difference is in front grille. 71 had louvers in top of tailgate

PICS--The 71-76 Chevy "clamshell" tailgate wagons are a favorite of the demo derby racers http://chevywagons.com/the_chevy_wagon__king_of_the_demolition_derby

The heavily strengthened and reinforced cage structure for the clamshell tailgate make these a driver's favorite. Once saw a televised "championship" event in which one of the top drivers drove a clamshell with bare feet so that he could grab the pedals better!

Okay, so what is this a quiz or a 1:43 scale forum?

Not our fault the makers haven't recognized the glory of Bowtie clamshell wagons. Sheesh!
