Ran across these 1:48th scale plastic kits of some classic trucks, one a 1955 Chevrolet COE stake truck and one a circa 1951 White tractor with Fruehauf gasoline tanker trailer.   Have not built these yet  but will report later.  They are branded Atlantis Model Company with an overseas agent in Bristol England.  The box is labeled made in the USA!   Has anyone heard of this brand of plastic kits?

I am familiar with Atlantis. This company acquired tooling from former plastic kit manufacturers no longer in business, such as Revell and Monogram.  They are reissuing some of them. I think 1/48 scale truck kits are former Revell models.

The two models you show probably are from late 1950s or early 1960s. I remember seeing a You Tube video on one of their Revell airplane reissues. They updated clear plastic parts and have new decals. Existing tooling used for everything else.

I have this Chevrolet truck model and intend to build it. . . one of these days.  It looks interesting.

Thinking back about 60 years, Revell had some other interesting truck kits with a military theme, I believe in 1/48 and 1/40 scale.  I remember a tractor trailer kit. It had a flatbed trailer with a missle packed in shipping crates. If Atlantis ever reissues it, I might buy it. This time I will do a much better job building and painting it,

I could not resist the tanker - it will look great with my Sinclair pumps and Ford pickup. Now to look for a suitable 1950s service station.

FYI, I'm starting the '55 Chevrolet truck and have realized the box art on the cover is not totally correct showing the blue truck which shows it as snub nose COE version (determined by the cut of the front edge of the doors) but the actual kit is of a conventional truck.  The box art on the edge of the box and underside of the box is more representative of the actual kit.

would you take a photo of the cab part of the Chevy model? I am interested in how it is put together.

Here are the parts of the cab laid out.  Shown with an Ertl 1955 Chevrolet Cameo for size comparison.

@john-quilter   John, keep us involved with your progress.  I opened mine a while back but just haven't started it.   Right now I'm working on a Testors kit, about the easiest to build that I have!   Let's blame the holiday season.
