Do we pay import duty/tax and clearance fees on the DHL Express shipment when we order from Canada or U.S.A on the Brooklin site? I paid $53 canadian dollars when i received from DHL Express but absolutely nothing when the parcel has been send by Royal Mail International. However, I received with DHL Express in 3 days maybe less. I never received so fast even when i order inside Canada that takes often more time. For those who order online on the Brooklin site I wondered also if we have the choice of the carrier on the Brooklin site because i don't see it? Maybe i should ask to Amanda. I never know in advance with which carrier i will receive. I received the 1942 Oldsmobile B44 station wagon. I was uncertain but after seen the video of John, i changed my mind and i did not regret.
I ordered a 1942 Oldsmobile fastback directly from Brooklin back in Nov 2019. It was shipped to Canada by UPS Brokerage. Besides shipping costs of $26.77 Canadian paid to Brooklin, I had to pay UPS $22.53 Canadian at the time of delivery for Canadian taxes/brokerage fees due.
@ben-lampson Yes, i have it Ben but Tunis Blue. I like mine but the two colors would have been a better choice i think.
@kenspear I already had to pay exorbitant fees through UPS to get a model from Bob Hooper because Canada Post was on strike. It is as if when the model is not given to Canada Post you have some big chance to pay. Did you pay at the door? Me since the pandemic it is impossible.
Michel: Yes. I had to pay taxes/brokerage fees at the door. It was before Covid. Some brokerages during Covid provide an email stating the taxes owing and direct you to their website to pay them by Visa etc.in advance of delivery.
@kenspear Yes they do that but the last time i received an email with a link to pay at DHL online, the link took me to a page that my anti virus was blocking and the page was considered dangerous to give credit card information etc. I wondered if this was phishing because even scammers can send an email or link that looks like exactly the same as DHL etc. I tried to join DHL by phone with difficulties to speak with someone to be able to pay at the phone. The phone system was unable to recognize my numbers on the system. i was embarrassed. i finally join their comptability service and they give me a phone number where i will be able to pay. after a few seconds, i immediatly after i received by mail a confirmation of my payment. All an aventure the link does not work, the phone system don't recognize my tracking numbers. I think that if you don't pay, you will not receive your parcel and after two attemps, the parcel is returned to the expeditor. I payed just in time to be able to receive my model at the door. I found my first experience with DHL a bit stressful but i never received so fast. I did not have this when Amanda send me via Royal Mail International. They have a paternership Canada Post and Royal mail i think because when the parcel arrive in Canada, the parcel is given to Canada Post exactly the same with USPS but that does not work like that with UPS or DHL because they have their own employees.
Over the past years I have had email messages from "DHL" and "Fedex" that quoted a tracking number but that was invalid and I was not expecting any package from either. I am convinced that these organizations had been hacked and this results in the fraudulent emails.

@john-quilter It is sure because they talk about it on their sites. Even at my cash the equivalent of a bank, an employee left with usb keys with all the personal data of the members and sold the data on the dark web. Now all of our data is blowing in the wind and criminal organizations can use it to defraud us monetarily or obtain or buy goods in our name and worse yet try to get more information for identity theft. Identity theft is living hell. We must be very careful in this time of pandemic and also with the holidays that are coming.
