The bidding history is always fun to look at. One bidder stopped at $300, another at $350, and then the two final ones fought it out to the final $$$ price! All it takes is two people to start a bidding war! Did one of us get it? 😯Â
I was following a UK auction this morning, didn't win anything. But it was comforting to know my old Corgi and Dinky Toys are holding their value. One like this went for 700 pounds (about $950). One of these days something I own will pass the 4-figure mark.
I would sure be pleased if Conquest did a reissue of this coupe....I would buy one in a flash!

Jack. I was email chatting with Buz this morning about this model and the ebay auction, and without giving any classified secrets away, he basically told me to be patient and I would get a chance to get one for myself. (and he didn't mean on ebay)

Really!!! That is great news. I have the cream colored Plymouth convertible so a Dodge coupe would look awesome on display beside it. I had the metallic blue Dodge convertible but sadly it was stolen.
Just to satisfy my curiosity, I checked ebay's completed sales and found this: Conquest#48,1947 Plymouth Special Deluxe Convertible Top Down in Sumac Red,Comes in original box. Selling price was $815. Otherwise, it was rare for any Conquest 1:43 to surpass $300.  It only takes two!

I forgot what we were talkin' about already Dave...or is it Fred?

Yes David, that is also one that fetches high prices.Â
I put these long sold out Conquests in the same category as some of the desired Motor City models, as they are just as nicely done (some might disagree) and are becoming hard to get.
I am amazed by the prices for some of these models. Does anyone know if these buyers are in the US or UK or are they being purchased by people in other countries?
Ben, I do not think Buz has a Cadillac. However, he owns other cars with large trunks, just kidding.
