Undoubtedly the most whimsical 1/43 model I have is this 1959 Citroen DS19 "Sur Ballon" that was designed by Citroen marketing for the 40th anniversary of this iconic car in 1995. To celebrate the car's hydro-pneumatic  suspension, this balloon car was displayed to be seemingly floating on a lake supported by 4 'balloons'. The car was recreated for the 2025 Autoworld Brussels by students of a an automotive institute.

Here it is for the 60th anniversary:

Getting ready for 2025:

Weirdest DS19? Maybe this one:

Vitesse did a great job on that Ballon car - I should have picked one up back in the day! 😎

Thank you Rich.  I've seen this car MANY times and always assumed it was a promotion of some sort but never really knew until now.  It's a great little model!    😎 😎 😎

That is different. I've never seen that one before. Not sure I'd gotten one or not when issued but it certainly would have been a conversation piece.
