4 Buick GSX 1970 models

From gm.com:

In 1970 the Gran Sport GSX packed a 350 horsepower 455 cid V8 with 510 ft-lbs of torque beneath its Ram-Air hood. A special "tight" suspension, 3.64 rear end, front/rear spoilers and graphics with only two available color schemes. 678 GSX model were built in 1970 and only 178 were painted Apollo White, with the balance being Saturn Yellow.

DeAgostini accounts for one of these, No. 19 in their diecast American Cars series, dating from 2020. Pluses: good details including the red pinstriping along the black decal work, the yellow details on the blacked-out hood, silver on the mirrors and window surrounds, and an authentic license plate. But the wheels are all-chrome, there is no tire lettering, and, bring mass-produced, small imperfections can occur (mine has a glue mark on a window).

The other three are all produced by Brooklin. The coupes were made for Mo Brown's ELMo models, with the Apollo White version appearing in 2021 as a limited edition of 50. This was quickly followed by a Saturn Yellow version, but the edition size was upped to 75 to satisfy those who missed out on the white one. Decals for the tire lettering were included with the yellow version and, if you bought the white one previously, Mo included and extra set for that one. The BRK number is 226x. The wheels look a bit better than the diecast, with dark metal centers, but the decals are simpler with no red pinstripes or yellow peaking through the black hood.

Lastly we have BRK 218x, a GSX convertible version made for the BCC in 2016 in an LE of 100. It was paired with 215x, the '67 Buick Wildcat Gran Sport Coupe, for a 2-Buick set for the club. Details are similar to the coupe and you will note mine has tire decals too (a gift to me from Mo). One site said that the GSX was only a coupe, while only 232 GS convertibles had the 455 Stage 1 motor, so it's possible a few yellow convertibles got the GSX black trim and GSX emblems applied.

What a gorgeous-looking Buick intermediate muscle car. A really attractive and powerful car.

I have Brooklin’s Saturn Yellow coupe. I like cars from this time period, since my generation bought and drove them.

Harv, do you have a photo of the 1967 Buick Gran Sport coupe from 2016?
