It's hard to find these 1/43 white metal models on the internet because this is what mostly pops up:

However, just recently, I promised John and Rory I would pass this one...

After a collector posted a nice 1:43 Reliant Scimitar GT by Frog Models on a handbuilt British car group on Facebook, John Roberts contacted the owner of Frog Models, Rory Cullen, in England. (This Frog is not connected to the well-known Frog who manufactured plastic aircraft kits up until the 1970s.)

Rory replied back to John:

Yes, indeed I'm Frog Models. I only have around 25 built of a particular model which is why you hardly ever see them - especially as I keep one of each model or colour. I have had around 35 different models created, including just about every derivative of the Reliant Scimitar/ Sabre. I did have the Invicta made, and it's probably my favourite of all. I also had the Tridents made, Reliant Fox (I haven't even finished the boxes yet), 1893 Salveson Steamer (a fantastic model), Ford Saxon, 1903 Humberette, GN racing car, GN Road version, Lancia Lambda & others. The full list is below; many are no longer available.

The early ones went quickly, but I haven't got round to doing anything with some of them yet as I've been busy with work, so if anyone's interested please let me know. Prices vary.

Anyone looking at this list needs to know the cost associated with producing a master to start with let alone the costs after that - what's the phrase people use - 'reassuringly expensive?!'

Most of these have been produced from brass masters, with SMTS making the moulds & casting work. Some I have built, some have been built by SMTS or two others, and they're all of the highest standard in terms of finish & detail.

Nearly all except the Reliant Foxes are in white metal (the Foxes are in Copper), and some I have not got round to trying to sell yet, but when I do, they don't take long to sell as they're only made in very small numbers.

Cheers, Rory, rory@cullenconservation.org

PS: More Frog Models can see seen on HobbyDB.

A very interesting overview of the current state and backstory of this tiny organization. My Frog items consisted of the 1/72 model aircraft !

Yes, it was a different British styrene plastic model company, but they also made some very cool airplane kits.
