I'd been looking at several '56 Plymouth models for several months prior to making my purchase last May. Now I've had the Brooklin Plaza and Fury in my collection for a couple of years now, with them being very early purchases in my discoveries. What I wanted was a decent Belvedere 2dr or even a 4dr to round things out.
I'd come across a couple prior to that time, but they were usually in poor overall condition or way overpriced for my budget. Since this is an older release finding one was more of a challenge than I expected. Now 1st I found a Savoy 4dr in Turquoise/white that while being a little old looking, was in decent shape. A new set of whitewalls made a big difference.
It was a Belvedere convertible that I was really looking for and fortunately I came across one shortly after the Savoy purchase. It needed a little cleaning, but it had a decent set of whitewall tires which was a plus, these older models usually don't. With this pair along with the Brooklin models I had, I felt good about my '56 Plymouth selections. It was late last year when I came across another one that I wasn't looking for, it was very intriguing. Now the funds to acquire it was definitely a bit more than the previous two, but it was unique enough to pique my interest.
I won the auction, and the model arrived a few weeks ago. I have taken photos of all three, unfortunately the Savoy didn't make the final cut and is in need of some retakes. The other two came out alright and I'll feature them in this post.
1956 Plymouth Belvedere Convertible - Conquest Models, in Cherry Red & Eggshell White
The 2nd one needs a little more introduction... The model started life as a Brooklin '56 Plaza 2dr sedan, BRK 103. It has been modified to become a Belvedere convertible, and with that, I think a very nice model.

Very nice models that wear the 2-tone so well.

They are all great looking. That Briar Rose version really speaks to me.
John: When I first read your post, I completely missed the fact that the Briar Rose model was a converted Brooklin Plaza 2 dr sedan. WOW!! I thought that it was a Conquest repaint. As I have always said, when the full potential of a Brooklin model is realized, they are every bit as nice as a Conquest/Madison/WMCE and as of late MOC.
