At the end of July, Charles Rockett put up an excellent post on the GAZ-12 ZIM Limousine. This model has always intrigued me, and I've been very interested in the style. Well with a little time to deal with, I started some searching for models available. I found quite a few very interesting versions. From that search, I found three that I just couldn't resist. I don't have a lot of facts about the manufacturer of these gems other than it is a Russian based manufacturer named DIP Models.
I found a few sellers that offered a couple varieties, one seller was in Ukraine. Since I'm not quite sure about all that is going on over there and the delays involved in shipping, I decided to look elsewhere. I found a seller here in the US, pb scalemodels. I've purchased from him before, although he can be a bit pricey with his selections. That was the case here as well, but these were so intriguing, I just couldn't resist.
What do you think of my selections?
What I found are these.
1949 GAZ-12 ZIM Cabriolet (closed) in a dark gray. A Limited Edition, #162 of 180.
1954 GAZ-12 ZIM Cabriolet (open) in a light gray. A Limited Edition, #074 of 360.
1954 GAZ-12 ZIM Limousine in Cherry Red. A Limited Edition, #07 of 12 - an exclusive built just for pb scalemodels.
I'll have plenty of more photos coming up, these were some quick shots for the hobbyDB website so I could add them in.

Very interesting late 40s Cadillac grill, but no tail fins!

Very nice and quite interesting models ! One can see a Fifties Cadillac influence in the exterior design of these vehicles. I would guess the average Soviet citizen would probably not be driving of of these automobiles but officials and Party members probably tooled around in the GAZ cars !
