It's been just over 10 years since I rediscovered the 1:43 scale. As I learned more, I was amazed at the diversity of the models available. They ranged in various mediums, from basic styling to intricate detailing. Truly, a wide selection of options that could please most any collector. As an avid collector, I have certainly taken advantage of this diversity and added many types of models to my collection. I am very proud of the collection I've assembled and while it does get out of hand from time to time, I am pleased of each type of model I have, from the basic to the most detailed.
It is from the more basic selections that I chose these two from Rextoys. I discovered this model maker when I came across the 1940 Packard sedans that were offered. As I often do when I discover a model manufacturer of interest, I look for more of what they have available. During that search, I discovered the 1938 Cadillac. Rextoys listed this in the 1938-1940 range, while the Cadillacs from this time are quite similar, the styling of this model is most certainly from 1938. A simple casting with a fine execution and a wide variety of body styles in this top-tier Cadillac. Here are two from a few that I have.
1938 Cadillac Series 90 V-16 Fleetwood Coupe
1938 Cadillac Series 90 V-16 Fleetwood Formal Touring Sedan

One thing we have in common, I started collecting 1/43 scale cars about 10 years ago.

Nice pictures and writeup John. I have quite a few REXTOY models. IMO they offered a lot of bang for the buck.
Those both look great ..... and, of course, they are Cadillacs. I am also happy to have the Rextoys 1938-40 Cadillac limo in a lighter blue color. Imposing automobiles !
