I am so glad that Sergio made some very good white metal cars before switching to resin. One of my favorite cars is a 1956 Mercury. Having one of Sergio’s allowed me to refine and redo it to a color rarely seen in 1/43 but seen in 1/18. The color is Grove Green and Black. I had a persimmon/white in fair condition and used it as a basis for my transformation. It is interesting that his version was skittles and I added them to my version. I also found ab original brochure showing all models without skirts. I am including it in my post along with pictures of the enhanced car. As always, thanks for looking.
Hi Chas, you've done a superb job on this model. I agree the earlier white metal Goldvargs were great and equally a match for any Brooklin. Sadly I only have the 1946 Chevrolet but now seeing your present Mercury, I shall keep an eye out for one. That said, in all the years I've looked at 1/43s, this is the first I've seen. Thanks for your fabulous post.
This two-tone green 1956 Mercury looks excellent and is a fine re-working of this Goldvarg 1/43 replica. Very nice !
Hi Chas! wow!!! that 1956 Mercury Montclair looks amazing in two tone green! Nice memories from an amazing era doing the white metal models in Argentina... thanks so much!!!!!!!
@goldvarg Thank you Sergio. Glad you liked it. Still one of my favorites!
This is a nice model on my list to two tone and enhance. I will post much much later due to the cold temperatures and painting curing.
Beautiful work! You had a great starting point.

Thanks for the video. I do not remember seeing any Goldvarg white metal models. The two models you show are about 30 years old, and I am impressed with the level of detail at that time.

Another white metal Goldvarg, the 1951 Chrysler Imperial limo by Derham. I keep hoping Sergio will get a license from Stellantis and be able to do some Mopars such as early 50s Plymouths and Dodges.
