Remember this girl?
Well, she led me on a search for that model - the IXO 1953 Hotchkiss Antheor 686 Cabriolet - with the top closed and, though I failed to find one, I did become enamored with the model in top-open mode:
And, as I didn't want the 1953 to feel lonely, I also purchased her cousin, a Norev 1949 Hotchkiss 686 Cabriolet:
It's always nice to get models that keep others company.
Two exceptional additions - Congrats!!
I also learned, at an early age, that kisses came in two's. From an Italian family, Mom preached, "Two; always two." When you greeted her, once was never enough and you did NOT want to disappoint the matriarch.
She chastised me once when I bought a 2nd Mercedes without first selling the other. I simply said, "Two Mom; always two." I came close to a frying pan across the noggin on that one.
Great models, G!
Excellent choices. I’m glad to see you expanding your 1/43 collection with this Hotchkiss pair.
@david-green I've been holding off expanding the 1/43 group, only because whenever I touch one something falls off. It got to be a bit frustrating, for I can glue larger items together, but those little mirrors and mascots are murder.
Resin and photo etched parts can make 1/43 scale very delicate. Neo did give me problems, especially in the early days. Most of my collection of 1/43 is still metal alloy or white metal but I have had little problem with Starter, Provence Moulage, Norev and Spark resin to name a few.
I try not to handle resin models as much as possible keeping most in displace cases. I have literally thousands, but far fewer 1/24 and 1/18. I love them in larger scale but can only display so many.
Two really nice models from one of the last great brands from France.
I have the sedan version, the Anjou, also made by Ixo for an Altaya artwork series...
In this link I give you a really interesting Hotchkiss model, The 1939 686 sedan. It's made by Milezim, that is a very interesting Spark sub brand for French popular classics..

Beautiful models. I love my 1/24 IXO/Altaya models. They nail the images perfectly.💯😊
@david-green I, too, keep all of my 1/43 models in display cases, and it is the reorganization that sometimes is necessary that is my dilemma. I prefer 1/24 and 1/18 for the detail and amenities, as well as being less 'delicate.'
@keko-romero I actually have an Anjou in my sights for review on Monday. I rather like these Hotchkiss models.
I have four Hotchkiss models, all open top. Sadly, slightly less than 1:43.
Though the French had been given 22,000 Jeeps right after the war, many gave up their parts to help others survive. By 1955 Hotchkiss was building Jeeps under license from Willys, with the military version denoted M201 and the civilian version named JH-101.
